    Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo Processor 3 GHz 6 MB Cache Socket LGA775


    Used to upgrade MediaSmart EX495, (What's this?) I upgraded my HP MediaSmart EX495 with this processor. I've had no issues with overheating at all. The stock heat sink is still being used and my system is now running WHS 2011. Things are running great. I did put 4 GB of ram in it as well. I've really enjoyed the speed improvement with this processor. Things are so snappy now. I use Air Video and Splashtop on my WHS and with this new processor things have been running very well. I've notice big improvements in streaming content with Air Video, and Splashtop gives me a higher frame rate then what I had before. I'll always recommend Intel processors over AMD because Intel's run faster even when the AMD equivalent has the same clock speed. In a lot of cases the Intels run hotter than the AMDs, but in my experience it's been the opposite. When it comes down to price, the AMD processors will always be less expensive, but that's for a reason. I feel that Intel will always be a few steps ahead of AMD.
    Bang for your buck, (What's this?) Pros - I have a dell inspiron 530s and was using the core duo 1.8ghz cpu it came with and I can honestly say this is a huge improvement. Noticed immediate performance increase running win7 professional x64.
    Great processor, (What's this?) I have been using this processor in a self constructed computer for over a year now with no problems whatsoever. In all my other computers, I have been using AMD CPUs. So, I thought I would give Intel a try. I am very satisfied and so I highly recommend this unit. I do audio and video work. I cannot comment on how it holds up in gaming as I do not play computer games.
    Best Bang For Your Buck CPU!, The e8400 is one of the best processors still out to date. It's not the best in speed wise but in practicality. Dual core processors are still extremely powerful and will still be used for a good amount of time. This processor brings a lot of power to the table and in certain scenarios actually beats Core 2 Quad processors. The e8400 also gives you the ability to overclock a lot and when I say a lot I mean it! You are able to get to 4.0GHz stable with a nice 3rd party heat sink and around 3.8 stable with the stock Intel heat sink. You can't go wrong with buying this cpu. Even in 2010 I will use this processor and more then likely in 2011.

    Works like a charm!, (What's this?) I purchased this CPU to upgrade the old E6550 I have in my desktop computer. I was able to remove the old processor and install this one with no issues. Computer fired right up and identified the CPU correctly. I have been running it stock for about three weeks now with no issues. This is a great processor to over clock if you feel like doing so. I am keeping it stock for now.
    Sweet Processor, (What's this?) I upgraded from a single core Pentium 4, the change in gaming is great no more choppy frame rates, newer games now run smooth. This is a good upgrade if you are still running a 775 board especially if you are a gamer.

    Wonderful upgrade, (What's this?) This was one of the best investments I made to upgrade my almost 3 year old Dell Inspiron. The chip is super easy to install and sped up my processing time by about 30%.

    I have a Dell Inspiron 530 (regular, not the slim version) with 3 GB of Ram that I bought about 3 years ago. The PC had an old Intel Celeron, 1 core, 2.20 Ghz processor and lately I noticed that I would get a perpetual hourglass whenever I tried to run several newer programs at once. Instead of spending $500-$600 on a new computer, I decided to upgrade the processor.
    Extreme Value and Speed With Crummy HSF, I have an E0 chip and have OC-d this to 4.979Ghz on a DF X48 mobo using 1150 Mhz GSkill DDR2 memory. Outstanding overkill as the RAM couldn't handle the IO. Recently the stock Heat Sink Fan (HSF) locking mechanism failed and the CPU temp went beyond 95'C causing repeated shutdowns until I discovered the issue. After re-locking it's back to running at 49'C - 59'C. I'm ordering an aftermarket HSF as the stock one uses a poor lock design. Most decent aftermarket HSFs use a back plate/screw-in lock design.

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33GHz 6M L2 Cache 1333MHz LGA775 Desktop Processor


    overclocks like crazy, It's so easy to get this thing to 4ghz without changing the voltage at all. Just set FSB to 400mhz. It doesn't start getting hot at all till you go over that. I have mine at 4.5ghz (450x10 1.41volts)) and it idles under 38C, and stress tests max 65C on air. (Zalman 9700 in an Antec 900 case).

    Vista 64 is snappy and games play real smooth. Load times for everything are quick.
    Fast, Stable & Solid Performance, (What's this?) Before buying the E8600 processor, I was torn between the E8400 (3.0Ghz), E8500 (3.16 Ghz) & E8600 (3.33 Ghz) processors. The 8600 is priced considerably higher than the 8400 and 8500 for only a minor boost in speed. Either processor will provide oustanding performance. In my case, I own a 680i SLI board that is not compatible with Yorkfield Quad Core processors. This Wolfdale 8600 is truly the maximum baseline performance processor that I can put into my system, so I felt I should go with the higher 3.33 Ghz for more "stable" overclocking potential.

    Intel Core i7 2600 Great product!!!, (What's this?) Well, I bought this CPU as an inversion, i'm a designer, musician and gamer. I really wanted to have my own great PC, and even without the Intel Graphics 3000 that i7 2600K has as an advantage, games and programming software runs eficiently, even two, or more of them at the same time. If you want one of the most powerfull CPU on the market, buy it. You'll never regret.

    These are the components of my machine, I don't know what kind of PC do you want. But really, this CPU works too eficiently. Games and programming software runs eficiently, even two, or more of them at the same time (in my case). Just buy it. You'll never regret.

    Night & Day, (What's this?) Coming from a Pentium 4, this is a huge step forward. The CPU is very fast and efficient. I definitely feel a huge productivity boost for my work. As a graphic/web designer, I usually have 10-20 windows open at once, including Adobe Creative Suite. This thing plows through everything I throw at it. Match it with a solid state drive and you've got a golden PC.

Sinceramente me iba a comprar el 2600k pero como utilizo la virtualizacion preferí optar por este modelo y la verdad ha sido una excelente compra, estable, rapido, eficiente. Actualmente tengo una Asus Sabertooth P67 con la cual le saco mejor provecho por la BIOS que utiliza.
    Lo, the 2600!, (What's this?) I just wish there was more and clearer info about what this processor is capable of; what MBs it is compatible with, and how to get the most out of it. There is so much research involved that it makes it quite a struggle to find out if this processor will do what you need.
    Great product, (What's this?) Easy to install in my ASUS P8P67 PRO motherboard. Fast and reliable. Did not get the 2600K because I don't need to overclock. Into video editing vice gaming. Highly recommend this product.
    Works Great, (What's this?) I bought this Processor for the first computer I built. (See complete build list below.) In the past I was dealing with a Dell Netbook that was slow and could barely power a 19" monitor. The speeds of this processor is awesome! Its like it never thinks but I know it does. When I look at processors processing(sounds like a dr sues word) I see all 4 with 1-10% of their ability used. Granted for what I do on the computer (Web browsing some Excel and MS Word, music streaming and videos) I may have overbought, but I wanted to be able to keep the system for many years. And for the few dollars more then the step down, this felt like a great buy!

    I normally use two 21" widescreen monitors, but often hook this rig up to my 55" Samsung LED and it never skips a beat! As a critical part of the PC, I think its good not to skimp on a processor. I didn't need the unlocked one as I have no need to overclock and this run pretty quick.

    OH so you don't get fooled like I did, it goes come with a HeatSink/FAN. I wasn't sure if it did and bought another one, but I'm glad I did as it never gets above 90F (coupled with the case I bought -- see parts list)

    Here is the complete build list for my PC (Monitors and TV not included I did this all for under $1000!!!!) I just watched for the best values on Amazon over a few weeks as I was in no rush.

    cool stuff!, I just got it two weeks ago, very nice performance compared to the corei7-950 and may be even less hot, not sure since am using it with a nulman cooler.
    CPU, Pro: This CPU is blindingly fast. I have set 7 different VMs running at the same time. There was no stutter. The temps are quite low even on stock cooler.

    Other: It might be that this CPU was overlooked due to the big brother 2600K which everyone desires due to overclocking abilities. The end result is that you dont need overclocking since the performance of this CPU is already more than current apps desire.

    Pentium 4 at 3.20GHz, (What's this?) This Pentium 4 was a nice bump in performance from my old Celeron D 330! It also brought the motherboard to the full rated speed of 800 Mhz(whoohoo!). My "new" computer is now year-2006-ready(too bad this is 2011).
    Oh yes, and nice experience with the seller of the product too.
    Great Service, (What's this?) The service was great, I had a little issue with delivery but that was Fed-Ex's fault not Amazon or Computer Geeks fault. The chip is not installed yet so I cannot comment on that, but it arrived in what looks like perfect condition (no bent pins or other visual defects).
    Good upgrade, (What's this?) This processor (combined with a new graphics card) gave a few more years of life to my aging Dimension 8300. Becareful installing it; the pins at the edges seem to love to bend.
    Works as advertised, (What's this?) CPU works as advertised and fast delivery. What more could you ask for. Just be careful you do the research and find out what CPUs are compatible with your motherboard. Don't just go by the socket type.
    A Professional Seller, (What's this?) Item I bought is a Pentium 4 3.2Ghz CPU. It works good; but the packaging was a bit dangerous. It was in a 3"x3"x.5" paper box, wrapped in a quater inch of foam.

    That box wasn't cushioned in it's box. It was at the bottom of a much larger box, with ballon type packing material pressing it down against the thin cardboard floor of the shipping box. Why even bother putting in the second box?...
    Good used processor, I'm amazed on the the pricing of some of the extreme processors available for my 7 year old motherboard but this particular processor did the the trick. I had been using a pokey Celeron and this chip provided a niced sized cache and full available bus speed. I have no need to upgrade my entire system and this chip did exactly as I expected.

    I have a rather large copper heatsink and the temps on the chip have been low as expected.

    intel processer 775 2.8, Bought the product, installed and works well, had no issues except for the shipping, paid for 1-3 day and received in 5 days.
    Wrong Processor, The processor that I recieved would not work in my computer.
    I felt that it was my fault for ordering the wrong item,

    Insufficient info on this CPU!! Buyer beware!!!, (What's this?) All they say on this item is "E6600".
    What they fail to say anywhere is that it is NOT the original E6600, which was 2.4 GHz with 4MB cache.
    It is 3.06 GHz and 2MB cache. It may not work on your older motherboard.
    Very disappointed.
    DOA, (What's this?) Bought this to upgrade an E6300 which should have been a simple drop in upgrade, but NOOOOO. PC wouldn't boot once I put this in, upgraded the BIOS just in case, still no go. Trying to figure out how I go about returning it. Thanks for wasting my time.
